Movie Characters that I relate to too much,
or want to relate to, which may partially explain why I'm crazy and may always get confused/upset when my life doesn't pan out the way everyone's does in the movies:
1. Penny Lane, "Almost Famous"
Never gonna be that pretty or that cool, but I am that delusional/escapist/why wasn't I born during this time period?
2. Alice, "Closer"
I feel like that face too often. "No one will ever love you as much as I do; why isn't love enough?" Yep, it's really over-dramatic and I don't care, maybe because I think Natalie Portman is the most beautiful woman ever, or maybe because I'm a ball of cheese. Anyways I don't get it either, Natalie. (womp womp)
*Also Natalie Portman in "Garden State", is probably how I felt like 3 years ago, which probably just means I want to be Natalie Portman and I'm shallow...or that I'm jaded now? uhhhhhh
3. Allie in "The Notebook"
She gets real crazy/violent/yell-y too? I don't know, just thought I'd put the two movies that most other people hate next to each other
4. Suzanna, "Girl, Interuppted"
May or may not have diagnosed myself with Borderline Personality Disorder right after I saw this. My therapist disagrees, and she's probs right, but I've never related to a character more than this one, probably because I think I'm crazier than other people think I am
5. Nora, "Broken English"
Watched this yesterday, liked it, I also often wander around drunkenly by myself when I've decided I should try to be social and go to a party, and try to keep my shit together
....I don't know why I did that. Also most if not all of these female characters are defined by their relationships with their male love interests, which is bullshit, especially since it's probs why I relate/want to relate too much. Fuck this.
